Gorse management is about participation\, responsibility\, cooperation\, environmental care; and it’s about doing something. \nThere are conditions that go with these grants – each dollar spent by the landcare group (via the Gorse Task Force) must be matched with a dollar from the landholder i.e. a 50% discount for Gorse control works. \n  \nWe will also hear from Sophie Bickford about an exciting new project “Coliban Connections” that aims to restore key habitat and connections through the region.\n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n

Following a delicious morning tea\, we will explore the diversity of the kingdom and its natural and cultural history through a selection of collected fungi. \nParticipants will learn how to identify fungi and of their significance to ecosystem health. DESCRIPTION:MARSH COURT RESERVE WORKING BEE\, LUNCH and SPEAKER \nSaturday 12th December 2015 \nMarsh Court Reserve is a very pleasant\, secluded area with interesting rock formations. A working bee will be held in the morning to do a clean-up and a barbeque and picnic lunch will follow. We are also fortunate enough to have Julie Whitfield give a presentation on flora species and structure of bio-links to suit our local fauna with a particular emphasis on threatened species in our area. \nJulie is a private consultant specialising in native flora and fauna\, with a focus on endangered species management. This promises to be a most engaging and informative talk on aspects which are very relevant to our region. 9:30 – 12:00noon – Working Bee 12:00 – 1:00pm Lunch 1:00pm Julie Whitfield’s presentation For catering purposes please advise your attendance by Thursday\, 10th December\, 2015 to Alan Denehey (0412 277563) by text or phone.
